Welcome to Gratia Community Church
Gratia’s young members gather on December 2 to practice praise songs for the Sunday service. Brother Larry, Moses, and sister Dany are going to lead the praise for this Sunday service and they are thankful for this opportunity to learn to serve and get involved in the service preparation. We pray that they can give glory to God and may abundant grace be poured down in the service.
Gratia church started its Christian book club this month of August and expects it can be an open door for others to come to Jesus Christ while church members can deepen their understanding of faith through this as well. We pray that God bless this fellowship as they seek for the Holy Spirit guide all things. .
On Saturday September 2, Gratia Church held their first full day of the Fall Retreat. The Fall Retreat is a time to reunite after being away for the summer and prepare for a new semester of evangelism and missions. The retreat was held in Sacramento, the capital of California.
The day started with opening service led by Pastor Sharon who preached on John 2 and described the qualitative life change that the Lord brings. For the first Bible Study, Pastor Walker preached from John 5 about the invalid man being healed and the heart of faith that is called in effort to stand up for God. The retreat also featured games and a walk outdoors that was a time for attendees to have deep fellowship together. Also, attendees shared talents by performing in a talent show with a Christian skits, songs, piano playing, and even a Christian rap. Fellowship meals were full of God’s grace. The day ended in a graceful prayer meeting where the Holy Spirit touched the members.
Gratia church offers group Bible study every Monday and regular Bible study students joined it on August 22, 2022. They studied Romans 3 and shared freely about the message after that. Some members asked questions like how we can define sin, and how we can explain grace to non-believers. It was very graceful to see how the attendees were strengthened by sharing their own testimony. We pray that God pours down abundant grace to all members throughout the week.
SF Gratia church ministers had a joyful evangelism at Stonestown shopping mall and talked with many young people. They wanted to testify God’s grace and love which is shown through Jesus Christ. Many people responded to their invitation to the Bible study and we pray that God’s Words to be preached boldly in the city of San Francisco.
Gratia Church concluded 3-day discipleship training in Colorado on May 22. It was full of grace and testimonies of God’s work in the students.
Pastor Walker wrapped up the discipleship training with closing service, encouraging students to live with the greater righteousness and love of God for the Kingdom. During the testimony time, every single student gave testimonies of God’s grace that was poured down on them through the discipleship training. Brother Moses shared his gratitude towards God that he received through Bible Studies and receiving the gift of tongues. Sister Chinyce testified how she was pierced in the heart and how God unconditional love of Jesus came to her. Sister Carina was in tears sharing the love of God that she received and wanting to share God’s love with others. Brother Abel shared gratitude and greater vision of God’s Kingdom that he was able to see. Brother Bill shared grace opening up his heart in a greater loving relationship with God. One overarching theme in all of the testimonies was a deep gratitude to God, a deep gratitude of the Bible Studies, a deep gratitude towards the pastors and ministers. Please pray for the discipleship training students and ministers to keep the grace receiving deeply in their hearts and grow as a fruit of love of God, being guided by the Holy Spirit for God’s Kingdom.
Gratia church had a graceful time of campus evangelism on May 3, 2022. Some members from the USF joined the campus evangelism.
Despite the business of the students during the final, there were some who showed interest in the Bible study during the summer. Gratia prays for the young people can come to know Jesus Christ and receive salvation.
On April 17, 2022, Gratia Church held a graceful Easter service to celebrate the joy of the resurrection and the victory of the Lord. The service began with a special Easter song that young members of Gratia had prepared.
The sermon delivered by Pastor Walker Tzeng, was on John 21:1-14 entitled, “Palm Sun It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn”. The sermon focused on the Lord’s grace in guiding us from the cross towards the resurrection. He encourages us to be fishers of men with a new net and boat, which is the Word and belongs to Church. We are a living sacrifice in living communion with God through the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Following the baptism, members had communion together with the service of bread and wine, which Sister Kellie organized. It was a beautiful time when the body of Christ could celebrate the Lord’s love and life that he gave to all of us.
Gratia held a graceful Easter retreat on April 16, 2022. During the Easter Retreat, Pastor Walker preached on John 20 over two Bible Studies. The first Bible study focused on Mary, John, and Peter’s witness of the empty tomb. The second Bible Study focused on the receiving of the Holy Spirit and doubting Thomas. Members were exhorted to go beyond the cross and live a life of resurrection.
After the Bible studies in the morning members hiked Mt Davidson where there is a big cross on top of the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful nature. Everyone received abundant grace through this time and wants to celebrate the risen Christ.
